Jewish Life at University of Kentucky

As part of my new role as Interim Director of Jewish Studies at the University of Kentucky, I have been investigating the history of UK’s Jewish Heritage. Did you know that UK once housed the 25th chapter of the Zeta Beta Tau (ZBT) Jewish Fraternity in the US?  And that some of the alumni from the 1950s still reside right here in Lexington? With the help of Daniel Story, I’ve been pouring over old UK yearbooks in special collections and meeting with local ZBT alumni to learn more about this rich and, until now, relatively unknown chapter of UK’s past. I will  continue to update this page as we learn more!
